Roborock Error 9 — Dustbin not detected
DIRECT ANSWER
COMMON CAUSES · RANKED
Bin not fully seated MOST COMMON
Half-seated bins pass the eye test but not the switch's.
Filter missing or badly installed
The robot checks for the filter too. A forgotten filter after washing is a classic trigger.
Filter magnet lost UNCOMMON
Roborock's official fix says to look for the magnet on the side of the filter — no magnet, no detection. Replace the filter.
HOW TO FIX IT
Reseat the dustbin
Pull the bin out and push it back until it clicks solidly.
Check the filter
Confirm the filter is installed the right way round and locked in its frame.
Find the filter magnet
Look for the small magnet on the filter's side. If it's gone, fit a new filter — that alone clears the error.
Restart the robot
Start a clean. If the error survives a new filter and a firm reseat, contact support.
