Roomba Error 68 — Camera error
DIRECT ANSWER
COMMON CAUSES · RANKED
Camera subsystem hung MOST COMMON
The camera's software stopped responding mid-job. A reboot restarts it cleanly.
Obstructed camera window
Dust, a sticker or a fingerprint smear over the lens can starve navigation of images.
Camera hardware failure RARE
Repeated error 68 after reboots means the module itself is faulty.
HOW TO FIX IT
Dock and reboot
Place the robot on the Home Base and perform a reboot — hold CLEAN until the light ring responds.
Clean the camera window
Wipe the lens cover with a dry microfiber cloth. No solvents.
Contact support if it returns
A recurring camera fault is a hardware problem, not something maintenance fixes.
