eufy Error S1 — Battery error

Severity: Warning — robot stops with a battery error G30/G32 Pro/G40L70X8LR/L35
Last verified: 2026-10-03 Tools: dry soft cloth Time: ~15 min Difficulty: moderate

DIRECT ANSWER

Error S1 is eufy's battery error on G-series, L70 and X8-family RoboVacs: the battery is not working normally. Temperature, charging contacts, dock power or the battery itself can be behind it. It has nothing to do with the Omni S1.

COMMON CAUSES · RANKED

1

Battery no longer delivering normal charge

Lithium-ion packs lose capacity with use. eufy lists S1 during cleaning as a sign that replacement may be due. That is a warning sign, and it does not confirm the battery has failed.

2

Dock power or charging contact problem

If the dock has no power or the contacts are dirty, the battery may not charge properly. That is why eufy's S1 checks start with the outlet, adapter and contacts.

3

Battery too cold or too hot UNCOMMON

The G32 Pro manual names temperature as a possible cause of S1. A robot kept in a cold garage or a hot room can show the error until it returns to normal temperature.

4

Battery not connected after replacement UNCOMMON

The first S1 check in the G32 Pro manual is whether the battery is connected, followed by a restart. This matters most after someone has fitted a new pack.

HOW TO FIX IT

SAFETY · READ THIS FIRST

If the battery is swollen, leaking, damaged or unusually hot, stop using and charging the robot. Do not open, puncture, short or modify the pack.

Confirm the code and the model

Make sure the robot actually reported Error S1, then read the model number on the label underneath. The G30 is T2250 and the G32 Pro is T2259. If you own an Omni S1 or S1 Pro, you have a different product line and should use its own support pages.

Let the battery reach normal temperature

If the robot has been somewhere cold or hot, switch it off and keep it indoors until it is back in range. The G32 Pro manual gives 0 to 40 °C. eufy does not set a fixed waiting time.

Check power to the dock

With the robot off, reseat the adapter at both the wall and the dock, try another outlet and look for the dock indicator. If it stays dark, follow the dock power branch below.

Wipe the charging contacts

Wipe the charging contacts on the robot and on the dock with a dry cloth.

Let the robot dock on its own

Set the robot down within 6 feet (1.8 m) of the dock, facing it, and press Home. Let it dock itself rather than placing it on the contacts by hand.

Run one test clean

After charging, switch the robot on and run a normal cleaning cycle. If it finishes without S1, the fault did not come back on that run. If S1 returns mid-clean after a full charge, go to the battery branch.

IF IT STILL FAILS

IF
The dock stays dark after the outlet and adapter checks
→ Treat it as a power fault that still needs locating. It doesn't prove the adapter or dock has failed. See eufy not charging. In the US, eufy Clean support is at +1 (800) 994-3056 or support@eufy.com. Source: eufy: What if my RoboVac stops with Error S1 (L70/G Series)
IF
S1 keeps returning mid-clean after a full charge
→ Confirm the exact model and T-number, then ask eufy which battery applies. L70 Hybrid batteries are ordered through support. A new battery is a sensible next step, but eufy itself only says it might fix the issue. Source: eufy: When should I replace the battery on my RoboVac
IF
S1 appears right after fitting a new battery
→ Check that the part is the one eufy confirmed for your model and that it is connected, then restart the robot. The G32 Pro manual says its battery should be replaced only by a skilled professional. If a correct battery still shows S1, have support assess the robot. Source: eufy: RoboVac G32 Pro manual (EN/ES, PDF)

WHEN TO STOP

STOP HERE

Stop and contact eufy support if the battery or robot is swollen, leaking, cracked or unusually hot, or if S1 comes back with a correctly installed replacement battery. Do not solder, bypass or repair the battery pack or internal electronics.

The G30 (T2250) is covered by eufy's G-series alert table. The G32 Pro (T2259) is a retail version of it with its own manual, so read G32 Pro lights and battery rules from that manual. · Source

FIELD NOTES

WHAT THE OFFICIAL DOCS LEAVE OUT — AND WHAT OWNERS REPORT

Each home check narrows things down without settling them. A dark dock indicator means the dock isn't lighting up with that outlet and adapter. It doesn't tell you whether the adapter or the dock is at fault, and it doesn't rule out the battery. A test clean that finishes cleanly only shows S1 stayed away for that one run.

The models aren't built the same way, either. The G32 Pro manual sets out its own lights, its own restart method (the main power switch) and its own battery rules. We had no light tables for the G30, G40, L70 or X8 among the checked sources, so their lights shouldn't be read against the G32 Pro chart. The X8 alert table also covers the LR20, LR30 and L35, yet sharing an error code is not the same as sharing a battery. eufy's 300 to 500 cycle figure is a general lithium-ion estimate and can't tell you how many cycles your robot has used.

FAQ · REAL QUESTIONS

Is Error S1 related to the eufy Omni S1 or S1 Pro?

No. Error S1 is a battery alert on older G, L70 and X8-family RoboVacs. eufy's repair list puts the Omni S1 (T2071) and S1 Pro (T2080) in the S Series. Use their own support pages and go by the code they actually show.

Does Error S1 apply to the G32 Pro?

Yes. The G32 Pro manual lists S1 directly: check that the battery is connected and restart the robot. If it has got too cold or hot, let it return to 0 to 40 °C. Contact support if S1 persists.

Is there a button reset that clears S1?

There isn't one that works across models. On the G32 Pro, restarting means turning the main power switch off and on. Holding Start/Pause for 10 seconds resets Wi-Fi or restores factory settings, which is more than a reboot. For other models, check your own manual.

Will a new battery fix S1?

It might. eufy's S1 guide says replacing the battery might fix the issue, and stops there. Dock power and contact problems can also keep the battery from charging properly, so finish those checks before buying anything.

How do I find the right replacement battery?

Start with the full model and T-number from the robot's label, then ask eufy to confirm the part number, voltage, shape and connector. Battery links in older eufy guides now redirect to category pages, so they don't confirm fit. L70 Hybrid owners order through support.
