Shark robot won't connect to Wi-Fi
DIRECT ANSWER
COMMON CAUSES · RANKED
Router serving only 5 GHz MOST COMMON
Most Shark robots don't join 5 GHz networks. Combined-band routers confuse setup — expose a separate 2.4 GHz SSID during pairing.
Robot not in pairing mode
The app can only find a robot whose Wi-Fi light is blinking — hold DOCK and CLEAN together until it blinks to re-enter pairing.
Weak signal at the dock
A dock parked at the far edge of coverage drops the robot offline after every clean; pairing also fails at range.
Stale app session or account glitch UNCOMMON
An outdated SharkClean app or a hung login breaks setup — update the app, sign out and back in, then retry.
HOW TO FIX IT
Put the phone on 2.4 GHz
Connect your phone to the 2.4 GHz network you want the robot on — not the 5 GHz variant — before opening the app.
Enter pairing mode
Press and hold the DOCK and CLEAN buttons on the robot until the Wi-Fi light blinks, then follow "Add a robot" in the SharkClean app.
Pair near the router
Do the setup with robot, phone and router in the same room; move the dock closer to coverage if the robot keeps dropping offline.
Restart router and app
Power-cycle the router for 30 seconds, update or reinstall the SharkClean app, and try the setup again.
