eufy RoboVac not returning to the dock
DIRECT ANSWER
COMMON CAUSES · RANKED
Obstacles crowding the base MOST COMMON
eufy's return-to-base fix clears about 1 m to each side and 2 m in front — shoes and cables inside that zone break the docking approach.
Mission started away from the dock
eufy's guidance is to start the vacuum from the charging base so the robot can trace its way back; hand-placed starts strand it.
Base on carpet, shifting, or surrounded by black objects
The official checklist wants hard floor, the anti-slip sticker fitted, and no black objects near the base that absorb its infrared signal.
Dirty charging pins abort the docking UNCOMMON
The robot arrives but rolls off again when the pins can't make contact — wipe the pins on base and robot.
Stale map after moving the base UNCOMMON
On LiDAR models (L70/X8 and later), relocating the base mid-map leaves the robot searching the old spot — reset the map or restart from the new location.
HOW TO FIX IT
Test docking from short range
Place the robot within 2 m of the base facing it and press the home button — this isolates navigation problems from base problems.
Fix the base placement
Put the base flat against a wall on hard floor with 1 m clear each side and 2 m in front, away from stairs, rugs and black furniture.
Clean the charging pins
Unplug the base and wipe its pins and the strips under the robot with a dry cloth.
Start every mission from the dock
Launch cleans with the robot docked so the return path stays valid; on mapping models, rebuild the map after moving the base.
Escalate with the activity log
If it still wanders, enable Activity Log Upload in the eufy Clean app, run 1-2 missions, and contact eufy support so they can read the logs.

Charging base — RoboVac & G series
The base's white indicator must light when powered — eufy's charging guide replaces the base when a robot gives no beep or light after docking on clean pins.
